Process Room

Farrell Partnership has transformed Sika’s retired tank room full of outdated equipment, utilities and structure into a new 2-hour rated process room. A new 3,000 gallon reactor vessel and new 2,800 gallon reactor cleaning solution storage tank were installed with the framework for one more reactor vessel to be installed in the future. New structure was designed to hang these tanks instead of the tanks resting on the floor.

The second level had an approximately 400sf concrete platform used as access to the tanks from above and also pallet storage. Adjacent to the existing concrete platform, a new steel platform with grating allows access to the tanks for manual additions. The existing fans were replaced with new exhaust fans to provide the required exhaust. New roof fans were specified for use within the two existing roof openings to reduce new penetrations. In addition, an LEL monitoring system and control loop were specified to provide a purge mode for explosion prevention.
